Role Play x EvE - What went wrong

I'm one of those people that enjoy OOC friendliness, IC conflicts, and making sure that every player enjoys the game... Or, one of those people that enjoy "fluffy circlejerks", as Jade once put it. EVE is an MMO. Various people play the game, and they have different goals, different ideas what they want to do, different ways to have fun. Everyone needs to find out who they can play with because they enjoy the game the same way. This is true for non-RPers, why would it be less true for RPers. And as is the case with the carebears, the pirates, the big alliances, etc., they all tell everyone else that they don't play the game the "right way." A carebear tells the pirate that killing him was not nice and kills the fun of the game. A pirate tells the next anti-pirate blob that blobbing sucks. The anti-pirate blob cries because BoB parked two titans and support fleet in their home system for a day. "THEY" are not playing the game right. The same happens with RPers. Of course this is about competition, so don't be all fluffy! Of course this is about immersion, stop being all OOC on your alliance chats! Of course this is about ... whatever. "WE" are playing the game right, "YOU" are not. So we all have to find our place in the game that we enjoy, because the people we play with enjoy it the same way. I have found those people. And I enjoy RPing with all of them a lot, no matter how many people tell me RP in EVE is impossible or maybe just dying. Thanks to the people in GRD, -EM-, PIE, -VV-, TAS, NMTZ, and all the others I have had good RP with before. :-)
